Kazakhstan weather overview

Kazakhstan is a large country in the driest part of the former Soviet Union and is a land of desert and plains. Summers can be extremely hot, although low humidity prevents conditions from becoming unbearable. Sunshine levels are high throughout the year, averaging 4 hours a day in the winter and 9 to 10 in the summer but winters are very cold unless you head for the shores of the Caspian Sea, where conditions are milder.
