Paraguay weather overview
The northwest of this landlocked country, the Chaco region, lies within the tropics and has very hot, wet and humid summers (October to March) and warm but drier winters. A rare exception to this rule occurs when polar air moves outwards from Antarctica and produces cold snaps which send temperatures plummeting for a short while.
In the southeast, summers are not quite as hot but are more rainy than in the north, and winters are cooler because the terrain is higher. Rain increases the further east you go.
What to pack for Paraguay weather
In the summer (October to March), light clothes should be fine but take warmer clothes for the winter, especially when heading for the southeast. Go prepared for rain whatever the time of year.
