Togo weather overview

Like Ghana, which lies at its western border, the West African country of Togo gets more rain inland than on its short Gulf of Guinea coastline, because of cold sea currents running in the same north-easterly direction as the winds prevalent in West Africa's rainy season.

The north of the country sees little rain, even in its single, summer rainy season, while the south gets more substantial downpours from March to July and again in October. Best time to go is between November and February, when humidity eases off and there is plenty of sunshine around - at least seven hours' a day to bask in.

What to pack for Togo weather

Pack light clothing and add waterproofs if travelling in the rainy seasons.
