Swaziland weather overview
The tiny, South African landlocked country of Swaziland comprises highlands (or high veld), with lowlands to the east along its border with Mozambique. Weather patterns vary according to the topography. The high veld has a temperate climate, with substantial rain falling between October and April.
The eastern lowlands have a subtropical to tropical climate, which makes them unpleasantly hot and muggy during the rainy season. Best time for a comfortable visit to the lowlands is between May and September, when humidity is lower and conditions generally drier.
What to pack for Swaziland weather
Take light clothes and waterproofs during the rainy months and pile in warmer clothing for the high veld.
