Sudan weather overview

RE-WRITE ALL OF THIS Africa's largest country consists of hot desert to the north, with the likelihood of rain increasing the further south you go. The main rainy season is from April to October but, in the far south, rain can fall during any month. In the north, extremely high summer temperatures are made tolerable, to some extent, by low humidity.

The south is cooler with higher humidity but beware the Haboob (strong winds producing violent but brief dust or even sand storms). In the winter, night time temperatures in the desert can be low and you May even see an occasional frost at dawn.

What to pack for Sudan weather

Expect to have to wrap up warmly if you are travelling to northern Sudan between November and March. Otherwise, light clothing is fine but go prepared for rain if you are venturing further south.
