Lebanon weather overview
Lebanon in the Eastern Mediterranean has two mountain ranges and a remarkably varied climate. On its coast, summers are hot and muggy, while autumn and winter can bring prolonged periods of cloud and rain interspersed with bright spells. Inland, along the narrow Bekaa Valley, summers are hotter and dryer and winters cooler than on the coast, with less rainfall.
Up in the mountains, summers are delightfully sunny and crisp and winter snows lie for many months so, in the spring, it is possible to ski one day and sunbathe on the balmy Mediterranean coast the next (the Lebanese say you can do both in a day but you'd need an extremely fast car or, preferably, a helicopter!).
The best times to visit are in the spring and autumn when the weather is warm and sunny but humidity is not too high, although the hot Khamsin winds can sometimes make life unpleasant.
What to pack for Lebanon weather
Light clothes are fine in the summer unless you are going into the mountains. Take warmer clothing and be prepared for rain in the winter months.
