Uruguay weather overview
Uruguay, which lies on the east coast of South America between Argentina and Brazil, is a low-lying and largely flat country. It has a healthy and pleasant subtropical climate similar to that of the Argentinean pampas region with little variation between inland weather and weather on the coast although temperatures are slightly higher in the interior.
Rainfall is moderate but you can expect at least one downpour a week at any time of the year. In the summer months (November to March), temperatures are never excessive and there is an average of 10 sunshine hours a day. Winters are mild and frost and snow are virtually unheard of.
What to pack for Uruguay weather
Take light clothes with a few cover-ups for the summer and medium to warm wear in the winter. Evenings can be chilly at any time of year, so take warm cover-ups - and be prepared for those occasional downpours, particularly if travelling in autumn (April and May).
