Curaçao overview

The Caribbean island of Curaçao lies approximately 40 miles (65 km) off the coast of Venezuela, well within the tropics, which means that, unsurprisingly, it experiences high temperatures year-round.

The difference between the warmest and coolest months in Curaçao is just a few degrees, so, whenever you go it will be hot. Expect daytime highs of around 30°C falling to 25°C overnight.

The island is generally a dry one with much lower levels of rainfall than elsewhere in the Caribbean; it also lies south of the path that most hurricanes take so is only occasionally affected during the hurricane season.

It does not experience a wet season as such, just months when there is a bit more rain. This occurs from October to the beginning of January and usually consists of showers rather than prolonged periods of rain.

During this time there are still on average eight hours of sunshine a day, ensuring you'll see plenty of sunshine regardless of when you visit Curaçao.

Being a tropical destination, heat and humidity is always high and very high from June to October. If you don't like it too hot and humid the best months to visit Curaçao are January, February and March.
