Honduras weather overview
Similar in size to its neighbour Guatemala, Honduras has a short Pacific coast and a much longer Caribbean coastline with an area of low-lying plain to the east and a mountainous interior. Both coasts are hot and humid. The Caribbean coast (unusually for Central America) receives most of its rainfall during the winter months but can also be affected by the tail end of a hurricane between June and November.
Temperatures are high in the eastern plains but, up in the mountains, conditions are cooler and pleasant with moderate rain in the summer months (May to October).
What to pack for Honduras weather
Take light clothes with warmer cover-ups for the highlands plus rainwear if you are visiting the coastal regions.
