Belarus weather overview

Belarus lies between Poland on the West and European Russia on the East and its climate is typical of that which prevails throughout the northern and central regions of European Russia.

This low-lying country experiences weather from the Atlantic and North-West Europe as well as Russia and the one thing you can be absolutely sure of is that winters will be freezing.

With only an hour or two of daily sunshine to relieve the gloom, it is better to avoid this region in the winter months. Summers in Belarus are warm and frequently sunny with up to 10 hours of sunshine a day. However, summer is also the main season for rainfall.

What to pack for Belarus weather

If you must visit Belarus in winter, take thermals and very warm clothing. Light clothes with warmer cover-ups are fine in the summer but always go prepared for rain.
