Azerbaijan weather overview

The Caspian Sea provides Azerbaijan with its eastern coastline while the country's inland central plains roll up into the Caucasus Mountain ranges.

This topography produces a varied climate. Long, hot summers and mild winters prevail in the lowlands which experience little rain all year.

Up in the mountains, winters are extremely cold with heavy snowfalls in the north and west.

What to pack for Azerbaijan weather

Light clothes are fine from May to September but take warmer attire for the rest of the year.
