Oman weather overview

Avoid Oman in the summer if you can because it grows unpleasantly hot and its south coast, which borders the Arabian Sea, can be cloudy and rainy. Away from the coast, sunshine levels are high throughout the year and there is little rain except in the Jebel Akhdar mountain range in the north and the Dhofar hills in the south.

Coastal areas are warm and muggy all year and, although temperatures are higher inland, the air is drier and less oppressive. In the hottest weather, you should take precautions against heatstroke.
