Senegal weather overview

The best time to visit Senegal is between December and April, during the dry season. At this time, temperatures are cooler and hot desert winds, although dusty, disperse the humidity and make life more comfortable. In the rainy season (June to September), the sticky heat will drive you mad, especially on the coast, when heavy cloud cover frequently obscures the sun and nights are as hot and humid as the days.

The further north you go, the less rain you'll see. Northern Senegal borders the Sahara Desert, so days are hot and nights chilly. Even on the coast, winter trade winds can be cool.
