Rwanda, which lies in East Africa between Tanzania and Uganda and is about the same size as neighbouring Burundi, is a mountainous country. Although it has an equatorial climate, its high altitudes keep temperatures moderate in the lower reaches and cool in the hills. The rainy season is from October to May, when downpours can be torrential. Best time to visit is between June and August, when humidity is relatively low and conditions are at their most pleasant.
