On the Black Sea Coast, you can find yourself basking in Mediterranean-type temperatures in the summer, while winter could leave you shivering in the face of icy winds from Russia. Although coastal winters are largely mild, they can suddenly be interrupted by cold spells ferocious enough to freeze the mighty River Danube.
Even in the summer, hot, sunny days on the coast can suddenly give way to squalls and thunderstorms with torrential rain and even hail.
