Tunisia overview

Although only about the size of England, Tunisia has a coast as well as desert and mountains and its weather conditions are as varied as its topography.

The Mediterranean coastline basks in hot summers and warm winters and rain is likely in the spring and autumn months.

There is more rain (and even occasional snowfall) in the mountains but, in central Tunisia, rainfall is lower and temperatures more extreme, both in the summer and winter, than on the coast. In the south, the country reverts to desert with searing hot days, chilly nights and little rain.

What to pack for Tunisia weather

Take light clothing for the summer months and warmer wear for the winter. Be prepared for cold nights in the southern desert.
