Zimbabwe weather overview

Most of Zimbabwe consists of a plateau with an average elevation of 1,200m (4,000ft). To the north and south are the valleys of the Zambezi and Limpopo, respectively, where altitude falls to 450m (1,500ft). The upland regions have a healthy and exceptionally pleasant climate with most of the rainfall in the months of November to March and 7 to 9 hours of sunshine daily throughout the year.

The eastern highlands have the heaviest rainfall. The lowlands are particularly dry and hot in September/October and generally hot, humid and uncomfortable during the rainy season (from November to March).

What to pack for Zimbabwe weather

Light clothing should be supplemented in the winter months (our summer) by warmer attire for the evenings and early morning game drives.
