Maldives weather overview
The Maldives consists of over one thousand low lying islands clustered in the North Indian Ocean but only two hundred are inhabited.
All have a hot, tropical climate with substantial rainfall during the southwest monsoon, which strikes between May and November.
Swimming and snorkelling are at their best between December and April when rainfall is at its lowest.

Islands to the north can occasionally fall prey to cyclones generated in the Arabian Sea; these are most likely to hit between August and November, bringing high winds and bucketing rain.
What to pack for Maldives weather
Take very light clothes - temperatures and humidity are high throughout the year. Pack sturdy rainwear if travelling in monsoon season.
