TUI launches innovative 'workation' packages

The UK's largest holiday company, TUI*, has launched a brand new package of workation breaks. These holidays, designed specifically for remote workers who are, perhaps, a little sick of the view from their own window, offer the chance to combine some much-needed sunshine with a quiet place to work.

In fact, in a recent study by TUI, the number one factor (39%) people considered to be the most important benefit of a workation was the chance to enjoy some warm, sunny weather. What's more, 52% of office workers said they would welcome a workation, the highest percentage of whom (72%) were based in London.

TUI's workation packages* are being offered at over 30 hotels across Spain (including the Canaries), Greece, Portugal, Morocco and Jamaica - ideal destinations for some seasonal sunshine.

Each workation deal is an all-inclusive affair, including flights, food, drink and activities such as daily yoga classes in properties with good wifi connectivity and either a balcony or terrace attached to the room. Prices start from £1,049 for a fortnight, £1,349 for three weeks and £1,799 for four weeks.

In addition, TUI is running a competition* for one lucky digital nomad to try out its workation package for free and report back. The prize is a one-week stay for two with all the trimmings of a standard workation package - enter by midnight on 5 October 2021 to be in with a chance!

Commercial and Business Development Director of TUI UK & Ireland, Richard Sofer, said: "The pandemic has shown us the benefits of flexible working and following our recent announcement of a shift in how we work as an organisation, we are pleased to be offering workations for customers and colleagues.

"The pandemic has not only changed the way millions of us work, but it has also changed the way we feel about work-life balance. It has made us realise that life is precious and there to be enjoyed.

"There's absolutely no reason why workers can't happily combine having fun in a lovely environment with working. Indeed, it's likely that the happier they are the better they will perform and we should embrace this."
