In the unlikely event that you will need to be helicoptered off the side of a mountain it is always a good idea to take out a winter sports travel insurance policy before you leave home. Also make sure you have some proper ski gloves, warm socks and a good hat. A pair of light snow boots will also be useful for getting around when you are not skiing.
