About JRNY Travel Magazine

The pandemic hit the travel industry hard and many seasoned freelance travel writers and photographers struggled to make ends meet as numerous publications were forced to close.

In stepped Kav Dadfar and Jordan Banks, the duo behind That Wild Idea, a company that helps those learn more about travel photography through their expert-led holidays and workshops around the world.

Of course, as full-time freelancers, they didn't escape the loss of commissions; they too saw income disappear as a result of the pandemic. But they also saw an opportunity to create something completely new to help the freelancing community.

Harnessing their desire to do something different, and their vast array of travel industry contacts, they came up with JRNY, a beautifully curated travel magazine. Each of JRNY's writers and photographers is highly regarded and properly paid for their expert contributions.

Today, having already scooped an award for the first issue, the team is growing, as is the number of issues JRNY plans to produce each year.
